G.L.A. INVE$T STOCK SPOTLIGHT: Tempus AI $TEM
Precision Medicine Powerhouse – Unlocking the Genomic + AI Revolution
By Coach Kyle & G.L.A. INVEST

Happy Monday Maniac’s!!

Welcome Back To The “Infinite Innovation” Newsletter with Coach Kyle and G.L.A INVE$T, where our mission is to keep our subscribers in the know with what’s really going on with the stock market and it’s best innovation investments.

One of the service’s I provide to my consulting clients is on demand, deep dive stock spotlight’s, where we take a close look at a company and put it through our proprietary scoring system to see how it stacks up. Today we are doing a public market stock spotlight on one of my favorite longterm genomics company’s TEMPUS AI.
Tempus AI is one of our top-ranked genomic long-term innovation investments, sitting alongside CRSP (CRISPR Therapeutics) as a foundational platform play in the precision medicine and DNA sequencing revolution. We also favor ARKG (ARK Genomic Revolution ETF) as a diversified vehicle to capture the broader genomic/DNA sequencing innovation platform — one that converges powerfully with AI, robotics, blockchain, and energy to fuel the digital revolution and societal transformation underway.

The Core Thesis: Solving Humanity’s Biggest Problems

We believe the companies that solve the biggest problems will deliver the largest returns. Tempus AI is attacking one of the most consequential challenges of our time: the fragmentation of healthcare data and the one-size-fits-all paradigm in medicine — especially oncology.
Traditional cancer care (and complex disease management) has been plagued by siloed records, incomplete genomic insights, and reactive rather than predictive treatment. Physicians often miss actionable findings. Pharma struggles with inefficient R&D. Patients suffer suboptimal outcomes and unnecessary toxicity.

Tempus solves this by building the operating system for precision medicine. It combines one of the world’s largest multimodal clinical-genomic-imaging datasets with advanced AI to deliver Intelligent Diagnostics — personalized, data-driven insights that improve diagnosis, treatment selection, prognosis, and drug development. Studies show their platform surfaces actionable findings in ~12% of patients missed by standard testing. This is not incremental; it is transformative.

Founder-Led Vision with Skin in the Game
Eric Lefkofsky founded Tempus in 2015 after his wife’s breast cancer diagnosis exposed the broken, data-poor reality of oncology. A serial entrepreneur (Groupon co-founder), Lefkofsky brings operational excellence and a founder’s obsession. He holds a substantial stake (~26.5%+), alongside strong insider ownership. Alignment is exceptional.

This is classic G.L.A. INVEST BIBLE territory: founder-led, mission-driven companies attacking massive problems with scalable technology.

Explosive Growth & Financial Momentum
Tempus is scaling rapidly while improving unit economics:
• Q1 2026 Revenue: $348.1 million (+36.1% YoY)
• Diagnostics: $261.1M (+34.7% YoY) — Oncology volumes +28%, Hereditary +54%, MRD testing volumes +~500% YoY
• Data & Applications (Insights/data licensing): $87M (+40.5% YoY, with Insights +44.1%)
• Full Year 2025: ~$1.27 billion revenue (~83% growth, ~30% organic)
• 2026 Guidance (raised): $1.59–1.60 billion (~25% growth) with ~ $65 million Adjusted EBITDA
Gross margins are expanding (~63.8%+), Adjusted EBITDA losses are narrowing sharply, and the company is on a clear path to sustained profitability and operating leverage. The data licensing business is particularly high-quality and scalable.
Balance Sheet: Strong liquidity with $643.8 million in cash and marketable securities (Q1 2026). Manageable debt profile. Positioned to fund growth without excessive dilution.
Contract backlog exceeds $1 billion in some reports — visibility is building.

Massive TAM + Secular Tailwinds (music to my ears)
Estimates for Tempus’ addressable opportunity range from $40 billion+ in core precision oncology/AI diagnostics to broader ~$200 billion TAM for data-driven healthcare services and AI-enabled platforms. The global AI in precision medicine market is exploding, with oncology as the fastest-growing segment.

This sits inside our larger macro conviction: We are in the early stages of the largest innovation and productivity boom in history. After averaging just 2–3% global GDP growth since the electricity, automobile, and telephone revolutions of the early 1900s, converging exponentials (AI + genomics + robotics + blockchain + energy abundance) can drive world GDP growth north of 7%+ by the end of this decade. Precision medicine is a core pillar of that transformation — extending healthy lifespans, boosting workforce productivity, and creating trillions in economic value.

Unassailable Moat: The Data Flywheel (My favorite)
Tempus’ competitive advantage is its proprietary multimodal data estate — tens of millions of de-identified records and hundreds of petabytes of linked clinical, genomic, imaging, and outcomes data. This is extraordinarily difficult to replicate.

The data flywheel is powerful:
More tests & integrations → richer dataset → superior AI models → better clinical/pharma value → more adoption & partnerships → even more data, very simple!
Deep integrations with thousands of institutions (including major academic centers), use by ~95% of top pharma companies, and expanding collaborations (Merck, Gilead, Northwestern Medicine, NYU Langone, MSK/Yale digital pathology consortium, etc.) reinforce the moat. New initiatives like the Fuses foundation model program and pan-cancer algorithms further widen the lead.

Notable Backers & Cathie Wood / ARK Invest Alignment
High-caliber investors include SoftBank (investor + Japan JV), Google/Alphabet, Novo Nordisk/Holdings, Baillie Gifford, NEA, T. Rowe Price, and Franklin Templeton.
Cathie Wood and ARK Invest have been active buyers of TEM, adding meaningfully to both ARKK and ARKG. Cathie sees exactly what we see: the powerful intersection of AI + Genomics as a multi-decade secular theme. ARKG remains one of our preferred diversified vehicles for exposure to the genomic revolution platform — alongside pure-play leaders like TEM and CRSP.

Analyst Sentiment & Valuation Context
Wall Street is generally constructive on the long-term story, with many Buy ratings and price targets ranging from the $60s to $90–$100+ (average in the high $60s–low $70s recently). Bulls highlight the data moat, accelerating volumes, pharma partnerships, and AI platform leverage. Cautious voices focus on the timeline to GAAP profitability and competition.
At recent levels (~$48, market cap ~$8.6–9B), the stock reflects skepticism around near-term execution while under-appreciating the multi-year compounding power of the data flywheel in a massive TAM. For long-term investors, this creates an asymmetric opportunity.

G.L.A. INVEST Verdict & Portfolio Fit
Tempus AI (TEM) embodies everything we seek in a core long-term holding:
• Solves a massive, humanity-defining problem (precision medicine at scale)
• Founder-led with aligned capital
• Unassailable data + AI moat and powerful network effects
• Explosive growth transitioning to high-quality, scalable revenue (diagnostics + data licensing)
• Enormous TAM inside a once-in-a-century innovation boom
• Strong backers, including Cathie Wood’s ARK vehicles

We rate TEM as a top-tier genomic innovation compounder for investors who can tolerate volatility, as TEM is still a small company and will have many up’s and downs. In my personal portfolio, I Pair it with CRSP for gene-editing upside and ARKG for broad genomic platform exposure. This is the type of business that can compound for decades as precision medicine moves from promise to standard of care — exactly the kind of Innovation we champion!! That’s it for this one! Until next time, the future belongs to those who own the platforms that make the impossible inevitable. Tempus is building one of them!
