Big Tech Earnings: Winners & Worriers

This week was dubbed “Earningspalooza” as the Mag 7 reported into a record-high market, with results setting the tone for the AI trade. Microsoft beat on the top and bottom line (Q3 revenue +18% YoY, EPS $4.27, +23% YoY) but slipped 2.5% on cautious commentary. Meta crushed revenue at $56.31 billion vs. $55.55B consensus, but shares dropped over 6% after hiking 2026 capex guidance to $125–$145 billion. Amazon and Microsoft results were “mixed” enough that both stocks fell roughly 3% post-print.

🌟 Spotlight: Google (GOOG)

Alphabet was the undisputed star of the week. Q1 gross revenue surged 22% to $109.9 billion, blowing past the $107B FactSet consensus, while EPS topped the $2.63 estimate. Shares jumped nearly 6% after-hours as management raised AI infrastructure spending guidance — a bullish signal that hyperscaler capex is translating into real cloud and AI revenue acceleration.

🍎 Spotlight: Apple (AAPL)

I respect bears and naysayers because they repeatedly highlight risks… Apple is behind on AI, it’s lost the narrative, iPhone sales have plateaued, devices have become commoditized… yada, yada, yada.

Yet in one of the greatest truisms ever, investors who have stayed the course, stayed objective and followed Apple’s journey have consistently been rewarded.

Over the past decade, Apple has achieved an annualized return of roughly 28–29% per year with dividends reinvested, compared to the S&P 500’s average of around 12–13% per year — more than double the index, annually, for ten years running. If you’re keeping score – and I hope you are – that means the 10-year total return for AAPL is approximately 1,160% — meaning a $10,000 investment a decade ago would be worth nearly $126,000 today. The S&P 500 over the same period delivered strong but far more modest gains of ~$41,000 – less than 1/3rd what Apple served up.

 Let that marinate.

🔮 Next Week Preview: Palantir (PLTR)

Palantir reports Q1 2026 after the close on Monday, May 4. Consensus calls for ~$0.29 EPS on $1.5385 billion in revenue, with the prior quarter showing ~70% YoY revenue growth. Catalysts include a reported $300M USDA deal and multiple federal contract wins, though wall st will undoubtably keep calling $PLTR expensive, we will continue to say it will become a multi trillion dollar company which means its cheap as Hell!

🚨 Breaking: Cerebras Goes Big on IPO

Per Investing.com/Bloomberg, Cerebras Systems is now seeking to raise up to $4 billion at a ~$40 billion valuation — a massive jump from the ~$2 billion target reported in March. Formal marketing kicks off as soon as Monday, with banks already fielding $10 billion+ in indications of interest. This builds on Cerebras’s earlier April S-1, which showed 2025 revenue of $510M (+76% YoY) and a swing from a $481M net loss to $87.9M in net income. The company will list on Nasdaq under ticker CBRS, with Morgan Stanley, Citi, Barclays, and UBS leading the deal. Notable backers include Sam Altman, Tiger Global, and Benchmark Capital. IMHO Cerebras will become a multi trillion dollar company long term and is a perfect longterm investment in a pure play AI.

🔄 Sexy 6 Portfolio Move: Cerebras In, Nvidia Out

Once Cerebras prices and trades later this month, we plan to add CBRS to the Sexy 6 and remove NVDA. To be clear — we still love Nvidia long-term and respect what Jensen has built. But Cerebras’s wafer-scale architecture is a genuinely revolutionary chip purpose-built for AI inference, which is where the next leg of compute demand is shifting. We see more asymmetric upside in CBRS at IPO than in NVDA at its current scale.

💪 Apex Ten: Why Timing the Market Is a Fool’s Errand

The Apex Ten’s rip off the lows is a textbook reminder: investors who tried to dance in and out got left behind, while those who held quality compounders captured the full rebound. The lesson stays the same — own the best companies, add on weakness, and let great management teams do their thing.
