📊 SECTION 1: MARKET OVERVIEW
Good morning, G.L.A. Nation! Happy Star Wars Day — May the 4th be with your portfolio.
Let’s cut through the noise. Here’s what’s actually happening:
Overnight Futures (as of 7:30 AM ET):
S&P 500 Futures: Down ~0.1%
Nasdaq 100 Futures: Essentially FLAT (+0.01%)
Dow Futures: Down 193 points (-0.39%)
What’s Driving Markets Today:
The big story this morning is the Strait of Hormuz escalation. Iran’s Navy claims it blocked “American-Zionist” warships from entering the strait, and a separate Iranian report claims two missiles hit a U.S. warship near Jask island. U.S. Central Command has denied any U.S. ships were struck. This is critical — the media will run wild with the Iranian version. Always verify. Rule #8 — The Finance Media is Not Your Friend.
Oil is surging: WTI crude is up 3% to above $105/barrel and Brent crude is up 3% to above $112/barrel. This is the Iran war fuel crisis continuing to play out — oil has surged nearly 60% since the conflict began on February 28th. The Strait of Hormuz handles roughly 20-25% of the world’s seaborne oil trade, and it remains effectively closed.
Trump’s “Project Freedom” was announced Sunday — the U.S. plans to help escort cargo ships of uninvolved nations through the Strait. Details are thin, but the intent is to break the shipping logjam. This could be a positive catalyst if executed well.
The Fed held rates steady last week — Powell’s final meeting as Fed chair is in the books. Markets remain focused on Friday’s April jobs report (consensus: only 53,000 jobs added vs. prior 178,000). A weak number could reignite rate-cut hopes.
The GOOD news the media won’t emphasize: The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite BOTH closed at new all-time highs on Friday. Earnings season has been strong. AI remains the dominant investment theme. Despite war headlines, the market’s upside bias (Rule #19) continues to prove itself.
Don’t let the Hormuz headlines shake you. Remember Rule #1 — the market has historically recovered its prior highs; future recovery is not certain. We’ve been through 9/11, COVID, the Great Financial Crisis. This too shall pass. The voting machine is panicking; the weighing machine knows better.

Anthropic — In early talks to buy AI inference chips from UK-based Fractile. Sales “exploding” and straining server capacity. IPO speculation continues.
Anduril — Founders Fund closed a $6 BILLION growth fund (largest ever). Anduril among key holdings. Defense tech demand is insatiable.
OpenAI — Part of Founders Fund’s portfolio. SPV market activity and IPO speculation heating up.
Perplexity, xAI, Cerebras, Neuralink — All riding the AI capital flood. Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund investing at breakneck speed. The private markets are SCREAMING that AI is not a bubble — it’s an infrastructure revolution (Rule #3).
🦅 SECTION 5: ARK / CATHIE WOOD WATCH
Cathie has been BUSY:
$72 million of Amazon (AMZN) — massive mega-cap position build
$92 million of X-Energy (XE) — biggest single ARK trade of the day. Nuclear/energy play.
$40 million of Robinhood (HOOD) — contrarian buy on the post-earnings dip
CoreWeave, Spotify, Alphabet — all bought on dips
Research: Bitcoin market cap to $16 trillion by 2030
When HOOD dropped 13%, the average investor panicked. Cathie bought $40 million. That’s conviction backed by research. She’s in Rule #23 of our Bible for a reason.
📖 SECTION 6: BIBLE LESSON OF THE DAY
Rule #6 — Volatility is a Feature, Not a Bug
Today’s lesson couldn’t be more timely. The Strait of Hormuz headlines are going to have people panicking. Oil at $105+. Futures red. Iran claiming missile strikes on U.S. warships.
“Like waves on a boat ride, or traffic at Rush Hour, Corrections are Literally part of This Game. So Don’t Panic or be Surprised when they happen!”
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq just hit ALL-TIME HIGHS on Friday. The market is resilient. Earnings are strong. AI is accelerating. Yes, the Iran-US conflict is real — but the market has priced in worse and STILL hit new highs.
“Volatility is only bad if you don’t know what you own.” We KNOW what we own. A spike in oil prices doesn’t change Tesla’s robotaxi future. It doesn’t change Palantir’s AI dominance. It doesn’t change Bitcoin’s store-of-value thesis.
“The Big money uses the volatility to manipulate the small money.” When you see red futures this morning, ask yourself: is Cathie Wood panic selling? Is Warren Buffett? Is Michael Saylor? No. They’re BUYING.
Volatility Is Vitality. Volatility Is Our Traveling Companion, and the Price We Agree To Pay For Exponential Growth.
🏆 SECTION 7: SPORTS CORNER
