SpaceX Rockets Toward Historic IPO with 5-for-1 Stock Split

SpaceX shareholders have approved a 5-for-1 stock split ahead of what is shaping up to be the largest IPO in history. The split adjusts the fair market value per share from $526.59 to approximately $105.32, making shares more accessible to retail investors when the company goes public. The stock split will be processed the week of May 18 and is expected to be completed by May 22. Elon is a big fan of stock splits, this will be the first of many more splits coming for Spacex and Tesla.

The aerospace giant is targeting a June 12 listing on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol $SPCX, with expectations to raise up to $80 billion or more. SpaceX’s S-1 filing, submitted confidentially to the SEC on April 1, reveals that CEO Elon Musk controls approximately 79% of voting rights despite owning around 42% equity through a dual-class share structure. The company is targeting a valuation of $1.75 trillion to over $2 trillion, with an unprecedented 30% allocation reserved for retail investors—roughly three times the standard for an IPO of this magnitude.

IMHO if investors did not invest in the Spacex Pre-IPO, they should ask their broker if its available, if it is not available investors can invest in Ark Invest’s Venture Fund under the symbols ARKVX, where Spacex makes up 18% of the fund.

Cerebras Delivers Blockbuster IPO Performance

Cerebras Systems executed the largest global IPO of 2026, raising $5.55 billion and potentially reaching $6.38 billion if underwriters exercise their over-allotment option. The AI chipmaker priced its IPO at $185 per share—well above its initial range of $150-$160—before opening at $350 and closing its first trading day at $311, representing a remarkable 68% gain.

Demand was extraordinary, with subscription orders exceeding available shares by more than 20 times. At the closing price, Cerebras achieved a market capitalization of approximately $49 billion, positioning the Sunnyvale-based company as a formidable competitor in the AI infrastructure space beyond established players like NVIDIA.

Cathie Wood Makes Aggressive Move Into CEREBRAS IPO

ARK Invest, led by Cathie Wood, moved decisively into Cerebras immediately following the IPO. ARK’s Innovation ETF (ARKK) and Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) purchased a combined 105,616 shares on the first day of trading, valued at approximately $32.8 million. The following day, ARK added another 149,176 shares across both funds. Combined with additional purchases reported through May 15, Wood’s total stake in Cerebras has reached well over 250,000 shares in the first two trading days—representing an estimated investment exceeding $75 million based on average trading prices.

This aggressive accumulation demonstrates ARK’s conviction in Cerebras as a next-generation AI infrastructure leader, while the firm simultaneously trimmed positions in Taiwan Semiconductor and AMD to fund the purchases. G.L.A INVEST Will Officially move Cerebras From our Top 10 Private market list to our APEX 10 Public Market Portfolio this week.

Trump-China Summit Delivers Positive Market Catalysts

President Trump concluded his two-day summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, announcing what he called “fantastic trade deals” that could ease tensions and support global market stability. China has committed to purchasing 200 Boeing aircraft with potential for additional orders, agricultural products exceeding $10 billion, and investments in energy and medical equipment.

Critically for energy markets, Trump indicated that Xi offered Chinese support in helping to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with the Chinese leader stating he “would like to help” achieve a diplomatic resolution. China’s Foreign Ministry called for reopening shipping lanes “as soon as possible to respond to the call of the international community and jointly keep the global supply chains stable”. While details remain limited, the constructive tone between the superpowers reduces the risk of additional trade or technology escalation and supports global cyclicals, Asian exporters, and industrials.

Iran Stock Market Set to Reopen Tuesday

Iran’s Tehran Stock Exchange will resume trading on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, marking its first session since closing at the outbreak of the US-Israel conflict in late February. Hamid Yari, deputy supervisor at Iran’s Securities and Exchange Organisation, stated that “the suspension of stock market activities from the start of the war was aimed at protecting shareholders’ assets, preventing panic-driven trading and allowing for more transparent pricing conditions”.

The reopening follows Iran’s April 17 announcement that the Strait of Hormuz would be open to commercial shipping under the ceasefire agreement, which triggered a historic rally in global equity markets and sent crude oil prices down nearly 10%. The full resumption of Iran’s capital markets signals growing confidence in regional stability, though the continued openness of the strait remains conditioned on the maintenance of the Lebanon ceasefire.

Investment Implications

The convergence of these developments—SpaceX’s imminent mega-IPO, Cerebras’s successful entry into public markets with strong institutional backing, improving US-China relations, and Middle East de-escalation—creates a constructive backdrop for innovation-focused portfolios. The SpaceX IPO represents a generational opportunity for exposure to orbital infrastructure and AI data centers, while Cerebras’s blockbuster debut validates investor appetite for next-generation AI compute beyond traditional semiconductor leaders.

Geopolitical risk premiums continue to compress as diplomatic progress unfolds, supporting global growth assets and reducing uncertainty around supply chain disruptions.
